Privacy Policy
What we collect when you use this site, why we collect it, and how to have it removed.
SD Media, LLC (“SD Media”, “we”, “us”) is a limited liability company organised under the laws of the State of Georgia, United States. This policy explains how we handle information in connection with sd-media.net.
We are a production company, not an advertising business. We do not sell personal information, we do not run behavioural advertising, and we do not build profiles of the people who visit this site.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
If you use the contact form, we receive what you type into it: your name, your email address, your company or organisation, the nature of your enquiry, and anything you write in the message field. Nothing on this site requires you to create an account.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records standard server request logs — IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested and the time of the request. These are used to keep the site running and to identify abuse. We do not use them to identify individual visitors.
Cookies
SD Media sets no advertising or analytics cookies on this site. We measure visits with Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless: it stores nothing on your device, collects no personal data, and does not track you across sites. The statistics it produces are aggregate and cannot be traced back to an individual. Plausible is EU‑hosted and processes data under GDPR. Embedded video players may set their own cookies once you click to play a video; see “Third parties” below.
2. Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and, where relevant, to continue a commercial conversation with you.
- To send screeners, rate cards, Originals and screener information, or production documentation you have asked for.
- To operate, secure and maintain the website, including filtering automated spam submissions.
- To comply with legal obligations that apply to us.
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, our lawful bases are your consent (which you give by submitting the form) and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and protecting the site from abuse.
3. Marketing
Submitting an enquiry does not add you to a mailing list. If we ever introduce one, it will be opt-in, and it will have an unsubscribe link.
4. Third parties
This site depends on a small number of external services. Each processes data under its own privacy policy.
- Netlify — hosting, form delivery and spam filtering. Contact form submissions are delivered to us through Netlify and are screened by an automated spam filter before they reach us.
- Google Fonts — typefaces are served from Google's font hosts, which receive your IP address as part of the request.
- YouTube — video is embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Thumbnails load without contacting YouTube's tracking services; a player is only loaded when you click to play, at which point YouTube's own terms and privacy policy apply.
We do not share your enquiry with anyone outside SD Media except where a third party is directly involved in responding to it — for example a distribution partner you have specifically asked to be introduced to — or where we are legally required to disclose it.
5. International transfers
SD Media is a US company and operates production internationally, including bases supporting our work in India and the Philippines. Information you send us is processed in the United States and may be accessed by our team while travelling on production. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you are transferring your information to a jurisdiction that may not offer the same statutory protections as your own; by submitting the form you consent to that transfer.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as the commercial relationship or prospect is live, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our business records. Server logs are retained only briefly by our host. You can ask us to delete your details at any time.
7. Your rights
Wherever you are, you may ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Write to us at the address below and we will act on it.
If the EU or UK GDPR applies to you, you additionally have the right to object to or restrict processing, the right to data portability, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS with HSTS and a content security policy. Form submissions are transmitted encrypted. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we do not hold payment details or sensitive personal data on this site, so there is very little here to lose.
9. Children
This site is aimed at broadcasters, producers, brands and distributors. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Governing law
This policy and any dispute arising from it are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions, except where the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you rights that cannot be excluded by agreement.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
12. Contact
Privacy questions, access requests and deletion requests go to our email address, or through the contact page.
See also our Terms of Use, which cover the use of this website and the ownership of the programming shown on it.
