Four ways to work with SD | MEDIA.
We originate and own our own factual formats, we produce in the field for partners who can't reach these territories economically, we get finished programming in front of audiences — and we licence the footage behind all of it.
Production Services
For broadcasters and production companies working outside their home territory.
Field production in territories most companies price themselves out of.
SD Media works globally, with deep specialisation across Asia-Pacific and EMEA. We run operational bases in India and the Philippines, which means crew mobilises from the region rather than flying in from Europe or the US. We crew locally, permit locally, and deliver to European and US broadcast specification. 45+ territories shot to date — from Antarctica to the Maldives. It is how 48 Hours got made with WildBear for RTL, and how Titan got made with Quintus for Maersk.
Territory coverage
Every country that appears in a delivered SD Media production. Not a target list — a record.
Capability
- Multi-language interview production with subtitled and localised delivery
- Location permitting, government liaison and filming authorisations
- Established fixer and local-crew networks in each territory
- Industrial, maritime and restricted-access filming with safety compliance
- 4K / HDR acquisition, colour-managed workflow, broadcast delivery spec
- Small-unit teams of 5–6, scalable — the footprint that gets access a full crew never sees
- Full post through to delivery, on schedule and on budget
Development & Format
For commissioners and streamers looking for returnable non-fiction.
We develop formats that renew.
Maximum Foodie is in its seventh season across 60+ territories, with six seasons delivered. Road Less Traveled ran six seasons and sixty-eight hours on Discovery Asia. We bring formats to market with the commercial architecture already built in — travelable, sponsorable, and structured to run rather than to make one good episode.
Because we own and operate our own IP, we develop the way a rights-holder does: with the second season, the licensing tail and the funding model in view from the first document.
What we bring
- Original format development, from one-line to full bible
- Presenter-led and observational non-fiction across travel, food, adventure, industry and education
- Funding architecture — destination, brand and hospitality partnership designed not to compromise the edit
- Pilot production as a route to series, as with Titan
Distribution & Rights
For rights-holders, and for brands who need their programming to reach an audience.
Four owned Originals, 112.5 hours, and the distribution to move them.
SD Media Originals are distributed globally through Off the Fence and InsightTV — a distribution relationship running continuously since 2011 — with digital, FAST and format-licensing rights retained in-house. We also represent selected third-party content that fits our parameters.
This is the part brands and destinations should read twice. An agency delivers you a film. We deliver you a film and the channels it airs on — which is the difference between a campaign asset and editorial programming an audience chooses to watch.
Coverage
- SD Media Originals — 112.5 hours across four owned formats, licensed by HBO Max, Discovery, Amazon Prime Video, InsightTV and Samsung TV+
- International representation via Off the Fence and InsightTV, plus direct licensing
- Digital, FAST channel and format-licensing rights retained and actively exploited
- Third-party content representation
- Active at MIPCOM, MIPTV, Realscreen and ATF
Stock Footage Library
For producers, agencies and broadcasters who need the shot without mounting the shoot.
Fifteen years of broadcast production leaves a lot of footage on the shelf. Ours is on Pond5.
The SD Media Stock Footage Library is available exclusively through Pond5 — every clip shot by our own crews on our own productions, cleared and ready to license. Not scraped, not aggregated: the same cameras and the same operators that delivered for Discovery, HBO Max and RTL.
Aerial and drone work, travel and destination coverage, food and market scenes, coastlines, and street-level city footage across Asia-Pacific, South Asia, Europe and the Caribbean — much of it from territories that are expensive to reach and thinly covered on the major libraries.
