Season 1 Episode 1: Philippines: Why is Filipino food unpopular? Our host embarks on a journey to the country of over 7000 islands, the Philippines. From the serene to the seedy, she combs through metro Manila discovering the food; this culinary spectrum includes bouncing around trying the popular fast food joints, meeting the local experts such as blogger Cheryl Tiu, a taste of history at the world's oldest Chinatown, an unexpected dancing session at the Spanish haunts of Manila, to rubbing shoulders with the elite Chefs of the city. All in a quest to answer just why Filipino cuisine is unheard of!
Maximum Foodie: Season 1: Episode 2: Thailand
Thailand: US Thai Food vs Authentic-Thai, which is the winner? Americans are accustomed to Thai food but what you get in mainland Thailand is quite different than the local Thai joint in California. Which is better? Our host embarks on a mission in Bangkok to understand the essence of what true Thai food is all about… Has America adulterated the authentic Thai way of cooking to suit palates? Or does Thailand have a lock on authentic and lesser known herbs, spices and techniques that never migrated over to America? Original or an international reversion? Liesel pokes around touristic districts interviewing foreigners, samples breakfast at bustling neighborhood joints, and of course, it wouldn’t be Thailand without a bug eating escapade! A look at an iconic locals-only farmers market sets Liesel on an objective to source hard to find Thai ingredients that might not make it across to America. Is this why the Thai dishes in US taste so different to what you get in Thailand?

MAXIMUM FOODIE: SEASON 1: Episode 3: Kolkata: Can Kolkata be considered a foodie destination of India? Maximum Foodie pinballs around a city known for its gastronomy, the forgotten hub of British East India trading company, Kolkata. From trying out what the bustling city’s vibrant street food scene has to offer, to the lesser known gems, including, venturing into India’s only Chinatown and sampling their delicacies. A tale of walking food tours, hole in the wall joints serving up North Eastern dumplings, messy fish markets, and of course, the pride of Bengal, the Hilsa fish. Is Kolkata up to par with the other major metropolitan cities of India? This episode finds out exactly that!

MAXIMUM FOODIE: SEASON 1: EPISODE 4: Nevada: What else is there in Nevada for foodies besides Vegas? This investigative mission starts off in the sin city atmosphere of the Vegas strip. After a gluttonous stint at a generic buffet, Liesel is inspired to do a road trip to find iconic gems in the state of Nevada. From ghost towns, to monstrous foodie challenges, to hole in the wall dive bars in the middle of nowhere, this trip has it all. Liesel finds the resurgence of Basque cuisine in Northern Nevada, and learns that Reno can do fine dining as well! A trip to Virginia city also reveals that the Silver State has some haunted bars where patrons from the 1800s are rumored to be still imbibing and spooking locals! It’s a road trip in every sense of the word!

MAXIMUM FOODIE: SEASON 1: EPISODE 6: Emlia Romagna: What’s the food like? The region of Emilia Romagna is lush with gentle rolling hills where time honored ingredients like truffles, olives, and vast vineyards can be found. But this region is usually overshadowed by it’s more famous neighboring cities, Florence and Venice. To understand the food of this region, Max Foodie explores the quaint sea-side town of Rimini and the hugely impressive Bologna. It's a tale of discovering local foodie passion that allows our host to hunt for truffles and try her hand in making her own gelato, a the world’s only Gelato University!
Maximum Foodie: Season 1: Episode 9: Bali
MAXIMUM FOODIE: SEASON 1: EPISODE 9: Balinese cuisine: what is it all about? Balinese cuisine is considered to be extremely complex. Different than what you find in the rest of Indonesia, Bali is further influenced by the major influx of Western tourism. Have the locals kept their traditions and cooking methods strong against the wave of tourism, or have they been catered to suit the palates of foreigners? Liesel heads to the ultimate getaway paradise island, sifts through all the yoga retreats, surfer shacks, and coffee plantations all in an effort to find iconic food - as well as track down the current foodie trend of the island.
